A 1720 Matteo Goffriller violin, stolen on July 26th last year from the Brixton Underground railway station in London, has been found and returned to its owner.
Police have indicated the instrument was located this week with ‘slight damages’ at a home in North West London.
The Gewa case and Viorin, Tubbs and Ochard violins bows were also located and returned.
A 51 year old woman has been charged with the theft.
A similar Goffriller violin was sold at auction in 2015 for £180,000 (US $235,000), sales records have shown.
