American violinist, conductor and educator Jonathan Strasser has passed away from cancer - aged 70
American violinist, conductor and educator Jonathan Strasser has passed away from cancer - aged 70.
A graduate of Mannes College and the Manhattan School of Music, he served as Guest Conductor with the Caracas Orquesta Sinfonica Venezuela and as Music Director of the New York State Music Camp and Staten Island Symphony.
Mr Strasser taught on faculty for over 30 years at the LaGuardia High School of the Arts in New York City and the Manhattan School of Music Pre-College.
He played the role of ‘the conductor’ in the 1980 MGM movie ‘Fame’.
