Russian cellist and pedagogue Andrey Demin has died suddenly in Moscow - aged 68

Russian cellist and pedagogue Andrey Demin has died suddenly in Moscow - aged 68.

A graduate of the Moscow Conservatory, where he studied with Natalia Shakhovskaya and Mstislav Rostropovich, Mr Demin was a former laureate of the All-Russian Competition and Tchaikovsky International Cello Competition.

He served as the long time Associate Principal Cellist with the Bolshoi Symphony Orchestra.

Our condolences are with Mr Demin's family, friends, students and colleagues.
