In the heart of the Swiss Alps, in the Gstaad/Château d’Oex region, Piccoli Virtuosi was established for talented children aged 8 to 18 who have the potential to pursue a professional career in music.
For the Piccoli Virtuosi International Music Boarding School, students continue their academic studies in French, German or English, in addition to enjoying a reduced program that allows them to dedicate more hours to their musical studies.
The audition process is open all year for kids aged 7 to 17, and the first step is to fill out the admission form, which can be downloaded here. The application form should be accompanied by a recent video of the applicant performing one or two pieces of their own choice on their first instrument.
The Piccoli Virtuosi Summer Music Camps invites young musicians to spend several weeks in a richly supportive musical community. This year comprises two sessions: Summer Camp 1 from August 8 to 14 and Summer Camp 2 from August 15 to 21.
"The heart of our Summer Camps teaching philosophy lies in the development of the whole person – not just the musician," the organization's website reads. "A rigorous yet non-competitive approach creates a nurturing environment, where each student is encouraged to take risks and discover their individual voice."
In addition to outdoor activities and excursions, students will have performance opportunities every week in order to refine their repertoire.
For those interested in applying, you can fill out the application form at your earliest convenience.
