Applications Open for the 2025 Meadowmount School of Music
The 2025 Meadowmount School of Music will be held from June 22 to August 8, in Westport, New York
The Meadowmount School of Music was established in 1944 by pedagogue Ivan Galamian and offers a 7-week summer program in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York for aspiring professional string players.
Open to violinists, violists, and cellists, the application deadline is January 15, 2025.
Meadowmount accepts approximately 200 students, ages 13 to 30+, through a video audition process focused on solo and chamber music material. Students follow a rigorous practice regimen, receive weekly private lessons and chamber music coachings and are offered daily master classes by faculty and guest artists. Students perform frequently in the three on-campus concerts per week and various off-campus concerts throughout the session.
The 2025 faculty includes violists Caroline Coade and Ayane Kozasa, cellists Hans Jørgen Jensen, Wei Yu, and Thomas Landschoot, violinists I-Hao Lee, Paul Kantor, Gerardo Ribeiro, Ann Setzer, and Janet Sung — plus chamber music coaches Steven Rochen, Patricia Sunwoo and Wei Yu.
