Applications Open for Violin Society of America’s Grants Program
The deadline for letters of inquiry for the program is September 1, 2024
Founded in 1973, the Violin Society of America (VSA) is a non-profit organization that promotes the art and science of making, repairing, and preserving stringed musical instruments and their bows.
Its VSA Grants program started in 2018 as an extension of its educational platform. A call for letters of inquiry to the program is made twice a year in March and September.
The grants may provide funding for projects that advance the VSA’s mission and goals. The VSA encourages project proposals from individuals, groups, or organizations, and is particularly interested in projects that go beyond traditional methods to benefit VSA members and the wider community.
The current Fall 2024 round of grants are now open for letters of inquiry. Accepted participants will be invited to submit a detailed Grant Application Form.
The grant applicant and the majority of the principal investigators of the project proposal must be VSA members in good standing. The topics of the proposal could include (but are not limited to) publications, research, and education.
The letters of inquiry are reviewed by the Scholarship and Grants Committee, chaired by its Treasurer Chris Clark; the process of following up with the applicants is managed by Jay VandeKopple.
