Candidates Announced for Munich’s 2018 ARD International Piano Trio Competition
The 10 ensembles progressing to the 2nd round of the 2018 ARD International Piano Trio Competition have been announced
The 10 ensembles progressing to the 2nd round of the 2018 ARD International Piano Trio Competition have been announced – in Munich, Germany.
The 2018 2nd round piano trio candidates are:
- Aoi Trio (Japan)
- Lux Trio (South Korea)
- Trio Adorno (Germany)
- Trio Cascara (South Korea)
- Trio Elyon (Bulgaria/France/Hungary)
- Trio Hélios (France)
- Trio Incendio (Czech Republic)
- Trio Isimsiz (Great Britain/Spain/Bulgaria)
- Trio Marvin (Kazakhstan/Russia/Germany)
- Trio Sōra (France/Latvia)
Open to young international musicians, aged 17 to 35 who are ready to launch an international career, the winning ensemble will receive €10,000 – and a number of important debut concert and recording invitations.
The 2018 piano trio competition jury comprises: Vincent Coq, Jens Elvekjær, Amiram All, Stefan Mendl, Sølve Sigerland, Tanja Tetzlaff and Quirine Viersen.
Previous ARD Competition category prize winners include: Christian Tetzlaff, Jessye Norman, Natalia Gutman, Christoph Eschenbach, Mitsuko Uchida, Yuri Bashmet, Igor Ozim, Dora Schwarzberg – and VC Artists Bomsori Kim and Sarah Christian.
