Centaur Records has this month announced the release of Russian-born American violinist Artur Kaganovskiy‘s debut album Brahms & Tchaikovsky: Violin Concertos.
Recorded with conductor Phillip Greenberg and the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, the disc features Brahms and Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concertos.
“I feel that the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto is synonymous with the great Russian composer’s magnificent ballets scores – those of The Nutcracker, Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty …” Artur has told The Violin Channel.
“As I was a former professional principal ballet dancer at New York’s School of American Ballet, I hope listeners will hopefully experience my Tchaikovsky Concerto in a very new way …” the 32-year-old Juilliard School graduate has said.
“I also tried to approach the Brahms Concerto from a similar stand point … embracing the strong choreographically ballet elements of the score.”
