With 1,700 members worldwide, APAP also hosts an annual APAP|NYC conference — a world-leading performing arts gathering and marketplace held in New York City.
This year's programming will start with the Opening Plenary on Friday, January 10 at 5:00 p.m. featuring art-rock vocalist, composer, technologist, and multidisciplinary artist Nona Hendryx as the opening speaker.
Other event highlights include a Saturday plenary session on January 11 featuring author Seth Godin, an APAP Annual Member Meeting on Monday, January 13, an APAP Honors Breakfast Meet & Greet and Awards Ceremony on Monday, January 13, and a Closing Plenary on Tuesday, January 14 featuring stage and screen star Kelli O'Hara.
The conference's Sunday sessions will cover topics such as Immersive Programming, Aligning Arts and Public Health, and the Future of Performing Arts Funding.
Now in its 27th year, APAP also administers the Young Performers Career Advancement Program (YPCA), which supports classical musicians who are in the early stages of their careers. The selected artists for 2025 are saxophonist Valentin Kovalev, violinist Lun Li, VC Artist violinist Nathan Meltzer, flutist Anthony Trionfo, and violinist Adé Williams.
The 2025 YPCA Artists will perform in a showcase at Merkin Hall on January 13, 2025, at 7 PM (ET).
