Astral Artists has today announced the six 1st prize winners of the 2017 national auditions, in Philadelphia – including VC Young Artist Zlatomir Fung.

This 2017 winners are:

• Cellist Zlatomir Fung
• Cellist Thomas Mesa
• Harpist Rachel Lee Hall
• Flutist Beomjae Kim
• Trombonist Brittany Lasch
• Pianist Ronaldo Rolim

“We are thrilled to have such an outstanding group of artists join Astral this year … their ability to excel through such a rigorous audition process is a testament to how superb these individuals are as artists and people,” Astral Artists Executive Director, Julia Rubio has told The Violin Channel.

This year’s winners will join the esteemed Astral Artists roster – for customized career development mentorship, marketing, performance opportunities and community engagement experience.

The six winners were selected from several hundred applicants – and following a number of live audition and interview rounds.

Previous Astral Artists winners include: violinists Judith Ingolfsson and Soovin Kim – and VC Artists Nikki Chooi, Timothy Chooi and Benjamin Beilman.
