Berlin Philharmonic Digital Concert Hall Announces French Version
The orchestra’s digital streaming platform is now available in French
Founded in 2008, the Berlin Philharmonic’s Digital Concert Hall showcases regular live broadcasts and has now amassed an archive of over 800 concerts, films, and playlists.
Having recently celebrated its 15th anniversary, the Digital Concert Hall has now launched a translated version of its site, specifically for French speakers.
With the release of 50 concerts broadcast live each season, the Digital Concert Hall was conceived by Berlin Phil’s principal cellist and media chairman Olaf Maninger, and co-managing director until 2019, Robert Zimmermann.
The platform also includes exclusive behind-the-scenes footage; interviews, portraits and presentations of works; plus historical archives and documentaries.
“We, the Berlin Philharmonic, want as many people as possible to be able to attend our concerts,” Maninger said in Diapason magazine. “The Digital Concert Hall is our global showcase: here, music lovers can get closer to the orchestra than anywhere else, no matter what country they are in.
“The fact that we can now offer the Digital Concert Hall to our French-speaking fans in their mother tongue particularly pleases me, as does the orchestra, because everyone should feel welcome and at home with us.”
