California’s National Association of Music Merchants Show to Proceed
As its venue was unaffected by the LA fires, the yearly trade show has decided to move forward as planned
Founded in 1901, the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) aims at strengthening the music products industry and promoting the benefits of music-making.
Its NAMM Show is a gathering of leaders from the education sector, music products industry, nonprofit organizations, music grantmakers, and future industry leaders to learn, share ideas, and innovate.
Held annually at the Anaheim Convention Center, which was unaffected by the recent fires in Greater Los Angeles, this year’s show is moving ahead as planned from January 21–25.
The show will involve various networking events, live music, and other programs for those looking to make an impact in the music industry. The Violin Channel's Gold Partners that will be exhibiting at this year's NAMM show include Larsen Strings, Pirastro, Gewa, and Thomastik-Infeld.
Additionally, a relief fund has been launched to provide assistance to NAMM members, employees of NAMM member companies, music education programs, and music makers affected by the recent LA wildfires.
The NAMM Foundation has committed an initial $50,000 to the fund and is accepting additional contributions here.
“We are in close contact with our partners in Anaheim, which remains unaffected by the wildfires 60 miles northwest,” NAMM organizers told us. “The NAMM Show can proceed as planned, and will be a platform to raise support for our communities impacted in Los Angeles. The NAMM Foundation has committed $50,000 to relief efforts and we will be coordinating our industry’s response throughout The NAMM Show.”
