Catalan composer and pianist Joan Guinjoan has passed away - aged 87

Catalan composer and pianist Joan Guinjoan has passed away - aged 87.

A graduate of Barcelona’s Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu and Paris’ École normale de musique, Professor Guinjoan served a long term teaching position on faculty at the Schola Cantorum de Paris.

He was a former recipient of the prestigious Spanish Creu de Sant Jordi award and the Spanish Gold Medal of Merit in the Fine Arts.
