BIS Records has this month announced the release of French cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras‘ new album: Nomaden.

Recorded with conductor Ed Spanjaard and the Atlas Ensemble, the disc features contemporary Dutch composer Joël Bons‘ 38 varied movements for solo cello and large ensemble.

”When we premiered ‘Nomaden’ in concert in 2016, I was not only impressed by the magical atmosphere and warm reception of the audience, but I also realized that it was a unique and totally new way to bring together an extraordinary variety of musical worlds …” Jean-Guihen has told The Violin Channel.

”I hope listeners will immerse themselves in this new sound world – and join us on our journey through time and space,” he has said.
