Chamber Music Society of Palm Beach Announces New Rising Artists Program
The week-long residency in January 2025 will pair emerging string players aged 20-30 with established mentors
The Chamber Music Society of Palm Beach (CMSPB) will hold its inaugural Rising Artists Program from January 5 to January 12, 2025. The new initiative pairs emerging and early-career artists with established musicians, who will act as mentors — primarily in artistry, and also in networking, entrepreneurial skills, and community relations.
Open to violinists, violists, and cellists, the week-long residency will see participants rehearse and perform chamber music with mentors including violinist Arnaud Sussmann (CMSPB Artistic Director) and cellist Edward Arron.
They will also undertake career development sessions, which will focus on how to launch a new project or organization. The week is rounded out with community engagement such as concerts in local schools.
The program provides a number of perks: players receive a stipend, and their housing, meals, and travel expenses will all be covered.
Applications must be received by September 15, 2024. You can find out more here.
"The Rising Artists Program is an incredible opportunity for young musicians to immerse themselves in a rigorous and inspiring environment," said CMSPB Artistic Director Arnaud Sussmann. "Participants will not only refine their craft through collaborative music-making but also gain invaluable insights into career development and community engagement, essential components for success in today’s rapidly evolving classical music world."
"I would recommend this program for any emerging artist who is passionately dedicated to chamber music, eager to refine their artistry through intensive collaboration, and motivated to make a significant impact in the classical music field," Sussmann added. "This program is ideal for young musicians who are not only technically proficient but also curious, open-minded, and committed to the communal and expressive nature of chamber music."
