Classic Violin Olympus International Competition to be Held in 2025
The inaugural edition of the competition will take place on April 22 - 28, 2025, in Dubai, UAE
Open to violinists born after April 22, 1979, the Classic Violin Olympus International Competition aims to find the most versatile young violinist in the world.
With Artistic Director Pavel Vernikov and President Konstantin Ishkhanov, the competition will invite 12 talented violinists to a Grand Finale in Dubai.
The Grand Finale will consist of two rounds of performances alongside a symphonic orchestra. The First Prize winner will be awarded €200,000 out of a total prize fund of €310,000. Moreover, in addition to the monetary prizes, the 23-member jury board, which will be exclusively made up of preeminent conductors and directors of acclaimed orchestras, festivals, and concert series, shall each offer a number of finalists the unique opportunity of performing live on stage at one of their upcoming concerts.
The pre-selection stages will be held across 2024 in Tokyo (Geidai School) from March 17-21; Vienna (Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna) on April 1-5; New York (Manhattan School of Music) between May 27-June 2; London (Royal College) on August 26-30; Paris (École normale supérieure) from September 9-13; and Tel Aviv (Buchmann-Mehta School of Music) on September 22-26 – each with a jury of internationally-celebrated musicians.
The prize fund for each pre-selection competition will be €35,000, and a total of 12 violinists from these preliminary contests will then be invited to perform at the final in Dubai, which will be streamed live on The Violin Channel.
