The Cleveland Orchestra has today announced the appointment of 32 year old American violinist, Jessica Lee as their new Assistant Concertmaster.
A graduate of the Juilliard School and Curtis Institute of Music, where she studied with Robert Mann and Ida Kavafian, Jessica is a former 1st prize winner at the Concert Artists Guild International Competition - and has served as a long-term member of the Johannes String Quartet and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Two.
‘I am thrilled to be joining the Cleveland Orchestra and becoming a part of an organisation with such a long and illustrious history …. I am especially excited to be making music with Franz Welser-Möst and the fantastic artists of the orchestra,” Jessica has said.
Jessica will fill the 4th chair position formerly held by Yoko Moore - who retired in May after 34 years.
