LA's Colburn School Students to Perform at La Jolla Music Society Concerts

A new partnership will see the school's students take the stage at The Conrad in La Jolla

California's La Jolla Music Society (LJMS) is excited to announce a new partnership with the Colburn School that will see the school's students perform in its Musical Preludes series for the remainder of the 2022/23 Winter Season.

The partnership serves to further the organization's commitment to fostering the next generation of players, by providing public performance opportunities for musicians before they finish studying. The Musical Preludes performances take place before regular LJMS concerts and attendance is free for concert ticket-holders.

Most recently, a Colburn trio consisting of Adam Millstein (violin), Jing Peng (viola), and Nathan Mo (cello) performed trios by Weinberg and Castelnuovo-Tedesco, as part of the school's Ziering–Conlon Initiative for Recovered Voices. The program encourages students to perform works by composers whose careers and lives were destroyed by the Nazi regime.

"La Jolla Music Society has a longstanding commitment to the development of young artists," said Allison Boles, the Education & Community Programming Manager and LJMS.

"We provide high-quality training through our Fellowship Artist program, as well as through our music and dance master classes. We also serve as a launchpad with our Discovery Series and offer professional performance opportunities at multiple levels, including our Musical Preludes."

"Our new partnership with the Colburn School will help La Jolla Music Society stay current and connected with up-and-coming musicians and provide their talented students with valuable performance opportunities outside the academic setting."
