American opera conductor and composer Anton Coppola has passed away - aged 102

American opera conductor and composer Anton Coppola has passed away - aged 102.

A graduate of the Manhattan School of Music, he served a long term position as head of the school's symphonic and operatic departments.

Mr Coppola was the Founding Artistic Director of the Opera Tampa - and served as Music Director of a number of Broadway musicals, including 'Silk Stockings', 'Bravo Giovanni' and 'The Boy Friend'.
