The Berlin Radio Symphony has announced the appointment of American conductor Karina Canellakis as its new Principal Guest Conductor
The Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra has today announced the appointment of American conductor Karina Canellakis as its new Principal Guest Conductor - effective from the commence of the 2019-2020 season.
A graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music and The Juilliard School, Karina is a former recipient of a prestigious Sir Georg Solti Conducting Award - and recently served as Assistant Conductor of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.
"It is with great enthusiasm that I begin the journey with the wonderful musicians of the RSB ... on which we want to explore many new and interesting corners of the repertoire," the 38-year-old conductor has said.
Karina will also commence her recent appointment as Chief Conductor of the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra as of the beginning of next season.
