Conductor Kazimierz Kord has Died, Age 90

The Polish conductor passed away due to an undisclosed cause


Kord began his music studies on the piano at the Leningrad Conservatory in Russia and eventually graduated from the Krakow Music Academy for conducting.

Kord held major conducting positions with orchestras like the Warsaw Philharmonic, the Southwest German Radio Symphony Orchestra, and the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra — in addition to international opera companies.

He was also the Music Advisor and Principal Guest Conductor of the Pacific Symphony in Orange County, California in the 1989-90 season.
