Today is Conductor Michael Tilson Thomas' 74th Birthday! [ON-THIS-DAY]

Today is American conductor, pianist and composer Maestro Michael Tilson Thomas' 74th birthday.

A graduate of the University of Southern California, he has served Principal Conducting positions with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic and London Symphony Orchestra – and currently serves as Music Director of the San Francisco Symphony and Artistic Director of the New World Symphony Orchestral Academy.
