Germany's Stuttgart Ballet Announces New Principal Conductor

The Stuttgart Ballet has announced the appointment of conductor Mikhail Agrest as its new Principal Conductor

The Stuttgart Ballet, in Stuttgart, Germany has this week announced the appointment of Russian-American conductor Mikhail Agrest as its new Principal Conductor.

A graduate of Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music and the Saint Petersburg State Conservatory, Milhail has lead productions with the Mariinsky Theatre since 2001 - and has served as Guest Conductor with a number of leading international opera houses - including the York's Metropolitan Opera, the English National Opera and London's Royal Opera House.

He will replace conductor Jeffrey Tuggle in the role - who will step down at the end of the current season after 35 seasons.
