COVID-19 Cases Surge at Milan’s La Scala Opera House

21 members from the organization's chorus and orchestra have tested positive for the virus
La Scala Opera House opened in September with reduced audience capacity and other guidelines to help reduce the spread of the virus.
In response to the government shutting down concert venues through November 24th, conductor Ricardo Muti said we must, “revive the theater and musical activity to provide spiritual food, without which society is brutalized.”
Along with the new rise in cases throughout Milan, the San Carlo Theater in Naples also reported a rise in infections.
