Daniel Heifetz, a believed distant relation to luminary Jascha Heifetz, has indicated his 22 years with the institute served as the framework for what he says the academy has become - and that it will hopefully "continue beyond me and move forward to inspire future generations of artists and audiences."
The Heifetz Institute's Board of Directors has indicated a committee has begun the international search to find a successor.
