Dutch violinist Herman Krebbers was born on this day in 1923.
Passing away in 2018, aged 94, Mr Krebbers served as long-term Concertmaster of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra - and held a distinguished teaching position on faculty at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
His famed students included: violinists Frank Peter Zimmermann, Rudolf Koelman and Emmy Verhey.
