The category Finalists have today been announced at the 2019 Ilona Fehér International Violin Competition  – in Budapest, Hungary.

The 9 to 12-year-old category Finalists are:

  • Defne Güngör (10, Turkey)
  • Gáspár Kelemen (11, Hungary)
  • Yume Tomita (11, Japan/United Kingdom)

The 13 to 15-year-old category Finalists are:

  • Doruk Deniz Aksu (15, Turkey)
  • Benedetta Fiechter (14, Italy)
  • Julianna Gaál (15, Hungary)
  • Mariam Obolashvili (15, Georgia)
  • Evan Pyne (15, Canada)

The 16 to 18-year-old category Finalists are:

  • Doga Altınok (18, Russia)
  • Chien Chin (18, China)
  • Ahmet Eren (16, Turkey)
  • Sára Kovács (16, Hungary)

Open to international violinists between the ages of 9 and 18 years old, the 1st prize winner in this year’s senior category will receive €1000.

The 2019 jury comprises: Shlomo Mintz (President), Cihat Aşkın, Herbert Greenberg, Lutsia Ibragimov, Qian Zhou and Éva Ácsné Szily.

The final round of this year’s competition will be streamed live on The Violin Channel.
