2020 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition To Be Held Virtually

The Fischoff National Chamber Music Association, in Notre Dame, Indiana, United States has this week announced that the 2020 Annual Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition will take place virtually - due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.
Hosted by the University of Notre Dame, the 2020 jurors for this year only will award the category prizes based on the performance videos submitted by the entrants.
The prize winners will be announced on the 8th and 9th of May - the original proposed dates of the competition.
"Creative people will not stop creating during this or any other emergency ... in times of distress or joy, the Arts are called upon to bring us together ... " Artistic Director Tom Rosenberg has this week said.
"In that spirit, the Fischoff will come together to celebrate the work of all the people involved - be they an ensemble member, juror, or staff member - and to continue our focus on education," he has said.
Since its founding in 1973, more than 6,600 musicians have participated in the annual competition – including former Grand Prize recipients VC Artists Calidore Quartet and the Dover Quartet.
The 2020 Senior String Jury will comprise: Daniel Avshalomov, Norman Fischer, Ani Kavafian and Seth Knopp.
The 2020 Junior String Jury will comprise: Anthony Arnone, Elinor Freer and Rebecca McFaul.
