Flautist Elizaveta Ivanova Wins 77th Concours de Genève Flute Edition

The 77th Concours de Genève recently came a close in Geneva, Switzerland. The Flute final took place at Victoria Hall on November 4, with finalists performing with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, conducted by Kaspar Zehnder.
Elizaveta Ivanova was announced the first prize winner after her performance of Mozart's Andante in C Major, K315 7' and Carl Nielsen's Concerto for flute and orchestra. She will receive CHF 20,000.
Elizaveta Ivanova grew up in St. Petersburg, where she studied at the State Conservatory with Olga Chernyadeva. She then continued her studies with Felix Renggli at the Hochschule für Musik in Basel and has already won prizes in numerous international competitions (including Cluj, Crusell and Larrieu). She is a co-soloist in the Frankfurt Opera Orchestra.
The Second Prize went to both Mario Bruno and Yuan Yu, who will each get CHF 12,000. The Audience prize, Young Audience Prize, and the Students' Prize also went to Mario Bruno.
The competition also offers career development to its laureates, who will benefit from two years of management from the Sartory Artists agency. During the two years following their prize, laureates are offered an international concert tour and can participate in the Concours de Genève offers a Prizewinners Workshop — highlighting different subjects such as performance, health, career management, image, and social media.
The Flute jury comprised Silvia Careddu (Chair), Denis Bouriakov, Magali Mosnier, Loïc Schneider, Seiya Ueno, Henrik Wiese, and Hyeri Yoon.
