German Violinist Werner Grobholz Died, Aged 78

The former concertmaster of the Munich Philharmonic has passed away


A founding member of the Álvarez Piano Quartet, Werner performed as a soloist with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields as well as with conductors Rudolf Kempe and Sergiu Celibidache.

In 1973, he performed a mashup of seven violin concertos with the Rudolf Kempe and the Munich Philharmonic.
