HARUNA SHINOYAMA | MOZART VIOLIN CONCERTO NO. 3 | 2015 1ST ZHUHAI INTERNATIONAL MOZART COMPETITION FOR YOUNG MUSICIANS | GROUP C 1ST PRIZE | 21 YEARS OLD
“When I entered this competition, it was nearly 1 year had passed since I started studying in Salzburg. Through my study in Salzburg, I came to realize that the Mozart music is something different from those I had experienced in Japan.
Then I knew this competition and consulted with my Professor Amoyal to enter it in order to try my Mozart that I leaned at that time.
The competition was held in Zhuhai China, a resort area with the beautiful sea in front, where I stayed at a nice hotel with delicious food and received warm hospitality of Chinese people.
I couldn’t believe my ears when I heard I was 1st. I was very happy to have a chance to play Mozart concerto twice and also happy to have received wonderful comments from not only the jury of violin section but also the jury of piano section.
After the competition, I became known to artists and students of Mozarteum. They gave me several chance to play solo and chamber music in Salzburg.
In 2016, I was honored to receive Paul Rozcek award that is for outstanding young violinists in Mozarteum.
From now on, I want to improve technique and how to express the music from learning more about the pieces of composers in different period as well as improving my Mozart, and also learning more about chamber music through the attractive quartet I belong to.
