Acclaimed Dutch violinist and pedagogue Herman Krebbers has passed away - aged 94
Acclaimed Dutch violinist and pedagogue Herman Krebbers has passed away - aged 94.
A student of Oscar Back, Mr Krebbers served as Concertmaster of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra from 1962 until 1980 – and held a distinguished long term teaching position on faculty at the Amsterdam Conservatory.
‘It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, on 2 May 2018, of violinist Herman Krebbers ... our thoughts are with his family, friends and loved ones," the Royal Concertgebouw has said today in a statement.
His famed students included violinists Frank Peter Zimmermann, Rudolf Koelman, Emmy Verhey and Andre Rieu.
Our condolences are with Mr Krebbers' family, friends, colleagues and students.
