A protege of Jules Boucherit, George Enescu and Carl Flesch, Ms Neveu achieved worldwide fame aged 15 – after out-placing 27 year old David Oistrakh to claim 1st prize at the 1935 Wieniawski International Violin Competition

Noted for her intensity, power and impeccable sonority, she toured extensively throughout her late teens before being halted by the War years

She tragically died in 1949, aged just 30, along side her brother, pianist Jean-Paul, when her Air France flight crashed into a mountain in the Azores – killing all on board | It’s believed her body was found still clutching her Stradivarius in her arms
