Celebrated Italian violinist and pedagogue Aldo Ferraresi was born on this day in 1902.
A student of Eugene Ysaye, throughout his six decade career he performed extensively as a soloist - and served as Concertmaster of the San Remo Symphony Orchestra and as 1st violinist with the San Remo String Quartet.
Mr Ferraresi held a long term teaching position on faculty at the Puccini Music Conservatory, in Italy - his famed students included Italian violin virtuoso Uto Ughi.
He passed away in 1978 - aged 76.
