Philadelphia's Jasper String Quartet Announces New Member
This week, the Philadelphia-based Jasper String Quartet announced the appointment of American violist Andrew Gonzalez to the ensemble
A graduate of The Juilliard School where he studied with Heidi Castleman, Michael Tree, and Hsin-Yun Huang, Andrew formerly served as a member of Carnegie Hall’s “Ensemble Connect” and is on the faculty of the Heifetz Institute’s “Program for the Exceptionally Gifted."
"We are thrilled to announce that Andrew Gonzalez will join the Jasper String Quartet as our new violist beginning in the 2020-21 season! Andrew is a virtuosic musician who is well-versed in chamber music and an experienced educator. He has quickly become a trusted colleague, and we are excited to begin this new chapter of the Jasper String Quartet," the ensemble said.
The Jasper String Quartet are former winners of the Chamber Music America "Cleveland Quartet Award" and have served residencies at Temple University and Swarthmore College.
