The Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, in Jerusalem, Israel, has today announced the appointment of American conductor Steven Sloane as its new Music Director – effective from the commencement of the 2020-2021 season.

Maestro Sloane, 61, has served as long term Music Director of the Bochum Symphony Orchestra – and has previously held principal positions with the Opera North and the Stavanger Symphony.

He will succeed conductor Fréderic Chaslin in the role.
