Sony Classical has announced the release of American superstar violinist Joshua Bell‘s new album: 'Bruch: Scottish Fantasy'

Sony Classical has this month announced the release of American superstar violinist Joshua Bell‘s new album: Bruch: Scottish Fantasy.

Lead and performed by Joshua with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, the disc features Bruch’s Scottish Fantasy and Violin Concerto No. 1 in G Minor.

"This is the way I like to make music these days ... where I am conducting and playing ..." Joshua has told The Violin Channel.

"It’s like chamber music, and I think it affects the sound of the concerto ... it’s more visceral ... " he has said.

“My father’s family were from Scotland, and I grew up hearing stories about how my great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather fought in the Black Watch in Scotland ... my dad was proud of his Scottish heritage, and this connection makes the melodies in Bruch’s Scottish Fantasy even more meaningful to me.”
