LA Phil Cancels Concerts Due to Fires
The staff at the Hollywood Bowl were evacuated safely from the dangerous fires
The Los Angeles Philharmonic, in California, has had to cancel and/or postpone concerts due to the ongoing wildfires and dangerous wind conditions.
The concert scheduled for January 14 of Benavides' Neruda Songs has been canceled due to the impace the wildires have had on our musicians and staff.
In a post on social media, the ensemble writes, "Our hearts are with all the members of our community who are impacted by the fires, and our immense gratitude goes out to all first responders who are tirelessly working to protect us. Please stay safe."
For those with tickets, an email will be sent with their options.
Fires were burning near the Hollywood Bowl, where the LA Phil frequently performs.
“Due to the Sunset Fire, we have received evacuation orders and all Hollywood Bowl staff have safely evacuated the premises,” the concert venue announced on X. “We extend our deepest gratitude to the firefighters who are working tirelessly to protect our community.”
The Violin Channel would like to extend our sincerest well-wishes to those affected by the fires.
