London Classic Violin Competition Announces Finalists
Ten musicians have reached the final round of the competition, which will involve prizes totalling €35,000
As part of the Classic Violin Olympus International Competition, finalists have been selected for the final round of the London Classic Violin Competition, which is being held at London’s Royal College of Music from August 26–30, 2024.
For the first round, candidates performed one of Paganini’s 24 caprices, the first movement of a Mozart concerto, and the Violin Sonata by the competition’s Composer-in-Residence Alexey Shor and Mikhail Pletnev, among other diverse works.
Selected from an initial 20 violinists, the final round participants of the London Classic Violin Competition are:

- Sofie Leifer
- Jinzhu Li
- Graf Mourja
- Moritz Rudloff
- Justin Saulnier
- Elly Suh
- Lir Vaginsky
- Jaewon Wee
Chaired by Pavel Vernikov, the jury panel for this round comprised Roland Daugareil, Yamen Saadi, Weidong Tong, and Robin Wilson.
These 10 violinists will compete for awards in the €35,000 prize pool; the top two will go on to win entry to the invite-only Classic Violin Olympus, which will be held in Dubai from April 22–28, 2025 — this event will feature €310,000 of prizes, plus other awards and opportunities.
