The London Philharmonic, in London, has announced the appointment of Taiwanese-born violist Ting-Ru Lai as its new No. 4 violist.

A graduate of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, New England Conservatory, and Mannes School of Music, Ting-Ru is a former top prize winner in the Croydon Concerto Competition, Queens Young Artist Competition and the National Taiwan Viola Competition.
