Stony Brook University has announced the appointment of 25-year-old American violist, VC Artist Matthew Lipman to its teaching faculty

The Stony Brook University Department of Music, in New York, has this week announced the appointment of 25-year-old American violist, VC Artist Matthew Lipman to its teaching faculty – effective from the commencement of the 2018-2019 academic year.

A graduate of The Juilliard School, where he studied with Steven Tenenbom, Ida Kavafian, Heidi Castleman and Mischa Amory, and current post graduate student of Tabea Zimmermann at the Kronberg Academy, Matthew has served as teaching assistant to Heidi Castleman at The Juilliard School since 2014.

“I am grateful to have been chosen for this position after a selective audition process …” Matthew has told The Violin Channel.

“It is an amazing honor to be able to nourish my passion for teaching at this prestigious institution … and to continue to learn alongside incredibly talented students and from many renowned colleagues,” he has said.
