No 1st Prize Awarded at Berlin’s Max Rostal International Violin Competition

Violinists Daniel Cho, Kyumin Park and Johanna Pichlmair have been awarded joint 2nd prize at this 2019 Max Rostal International Violin Competition

Violinists Daniel Cho from South Korea/United States, Kyumin Park from South Korea and Johanna Pichlmair from Austria have this week been awarded joint 2nd prize at this 2019 Max Rostal International Violin Competition - in Berlin.

Each of the three joint top prize winners will receive €3,000.

No first prize was awarded at this year's competition.

4th prize was awarded to Alexander Won-Ho Kim from South Korea.

This year's audience prize was awarded to Kyumin Park.

This year's special prize for the 'Best Interpretation of the Commissioned Work' was awarded to Johanna Pichelmair.

The 2019 jury comprised: Tomoko Akasaka, Sophia Jaffé, Walter Küssner, Roberto Diaz, David Geringas, Philippe Graffin, Pavel Vernikov, Hartmut Rohde and Hagai Shaham.
