Czech violist and pedagogue Milan Škampa has passed away - aged 89
Czech violist and pedagogue Milan Škampa has passed away - aged 89.
A student of Ladislav Černý, Mr Škampa served as violist with the famed Smetana String Quartet from in 1956 until the ensemble’s disbandment in 1989.
He served a long-term Professorship on faculty at the Prague Academy of Music - and in 2016, was honored with the International Viola Society’s highest award, The Silver Alto Clef.
