25 year old Nancy Zhou from the United States has just minutes ago been awarded 1st prize in the violin division of the 2018 International Music Competition Harbin, in Harbin, China.
A graduate of Harvard University, and former student of Miriam Fried at the New England Conservatory, Nancy is a former prize winner at the Isang Yun, Indianapolis and Sibelius International Violin Competitions.
She will receive US$50,000.

2nd and 3rd prizes were awarded to 21 year old Kyumin Park from South Korea - and 23 year old Leonid Zheleznyi from Russia.
4th prize was awarded to 26 year old Fang Lei Liu from China.

1st prize in this year’s piano division was awarded to 23 year old Pan Lin Zi from China.
No 1st prize was awarded in this year's vocal division - 2nd prize was awarded to 31 year old Svetlana Moskalenko from Russia.
The 2018 violin competition jury comprised: Augustin Dumay, Ilya Kaler, Mihaela Martin, Kurt Sassmannshaus, Vera Tsu, Viktor Tretiyakov, Maxim Fedotov, Danan Liang and Alissa Margulis.
