Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France Appoints New Principal Violist
Aurélia Souvignet-Kowalski will begin her new role in the orchestra as of this concert season
Aurelia Souvignet-Kowalski first joined the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France in 2005.
Previously, she was co-soloist of the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and served as principal viola of the Orchestre National d'Auvergne.
Souvignet-Kowalski initially studied violin at the Suzuki Institute in her hometown of Lyon.
After graduating from the Lyon Conservatoire, she developed a passion for the viola and was accepted to the Conservatoire National Supérieur Musique et Danse de Lyon to study with Jean-Philippe Vasseur and Fabrice Lamarre.
She later traveled to Austria for further viola studies at the University of Vienna with Siegfried Führlinger.
