Harmonia Mundi Records has announced the release of violinist Isabelle Faust's new album: 'Mozart: Sonatas for Fortepiano & Violin, Vol. 2'.

Recorded with acclaimed pianist Alexander Melnikov, the disc features Mozart's Violin Sonata No. 18 in G Major K301, Violin Sonata No. 22 in A Major K305, Violin Sonata No. 24 in F Major K376 - and Violin Sonata No. 26 in B Flat Major K378.

''We had already started to dig deep into the Mozart Sonatas on period instruments with our Volume 1 release ... and we are continuing our journey through this amazing repertoire with this 2nd volume ... and with more to come ...'' Isabelle has told The Violin Channel

''We were particularly wanting to highlight the theatrical, colorful and improvisational style of these Sonata ... with both instruments often imitating different characters - with a strong resemblance to certain scenes in Mozart’s operas ..." she has said.

"We've also found that the period instruments help enormously in bringing out the rhetoric and articulation.''
