Dacapo Records has announced the release of the Copenhagen Piano Quartet's new album: 'Friedrich Kuhlau & Otto Malling Piano Quartets'

Dacapo Records has announced the release of the Copenhagen Piano Quartet's new album: 'Friedrich Kuhlau & Otto Malling Piano Quartets'.

The disc features Danish composers Friedrich Kuhla's (1786-1832) 3rd Piano Quartet in G Minor Op. 108 - coupled with Otto Malling's (1848-1915) Piano Quartet in C Minor Op. 80.

''The sheer amount of classical music composed during the classical period is immense - what is played today is of course much less ..." violinist Benedikte Damgaard has told The Violin Channel.
"Sometimes history did a great job at selecting the works to get the spotlight onto the future but sometimes due to many different circumstances, truly beautiful works have been forgotten ..." she has said.
"We actively went searching in the national library archives for works that we felt deserved more attention than what they have received."
