Pavarotti Foundation Receives to Purchase Land for Arts Center in Naples, Florida
The new arts center will feature a 900-seat theater and an outdoor amphitheater, and will host the Luciano Pavarotti Foundation Opera Naples Academy
The Pavarotti Foundation, Opera Naples, and Theater in the Garden have received a seven-figure donation towards the purchase of land for a new international center of the arts, to be built in Naples, Florida. The donation is the next step towards a process begun in 2023 when Opera Naples invited Pavarotti Foundation President Nicoletta Pavarotti to create an American base for the Foundation.
The center will also serve as a focal point for the wider community and will host a 900-seat state-of-the-art indoor theater, an outdoor amphitheater in a landscaped garden setting, an Opera Museum, The Luciano Pavarotti Foundation Opera Naples International Voice Competition, and an opera-themed restaurant.
In line with Pavarotti's wish that his legacy be used to advance the career of young singers, the center will host the Luciano Pavarotti Foundation Opera Naples Academy — which will offer voice, acting, and diction lessons, alongside the provision of public performance opportunities.
In total, the project will cost around $25-30 million and is the Pavarotti Foundation's first venture to be hosted outside of Modena, Italy.
"I am beyond grateful to our anonymous donor for guaranteeing the funding to purchase the land for our grand vision," said Nicoletta Pavarotti.
"The Luciano Pavarotti Foundation has greatly enjoyed our partnership with Opera Naples over this past year, including our exciting performances happening this weekend of Don Pasquale and our International Voice Competition."
"We believe we have tremendous momentum started as our partnership continues to blossom, and we can all dream together with Theater in the Garden about the artistic greatness we will achieve in the years to come."
