Composed between 1774 and 1789, the sonatas showcase Mozart's development as a composer and pianist, completing his first piano sonata at age 18. Mozart's final piano sonata, K. 576 is regarded as the summation of his sonata style, incorporating contrapuntal techniques and mixing simplicity with complexity.
Shaham shared, “Since I was recording it, I decided to go ‘all out’ with the ornamentation, varying trills, grace notes, and other ornamentation with each successive take, to elicit the drama, humor and playfulness of the sonatas."
