Polish actor, librettist, opera director and conductor Ryszard Peryt has passed away - aged 71

Polish actor, librettist, opera director and conductor Ryszard Peryt has passed away - aged 71.

Originally trained as an actor, Mr Peryt later went on to serve as Opera Director of the Warsaw Chamber Opera - and as Music Director of the Polish Royal Opera.

“He was a great artist, visionary and an authority … he was a man of incredible erudition and outstanding accomplishments,” Poland’s Culture Minister Piotr Gliński has today said.
